Summary
IOtech's StrainBook/616 is a compact and portable strain gage measurement system that connects to your PC’s Ethernet port. Built into the StrainBook is a 16-bit, 1-MHz A/D converter that scans all selected channels at 1 µsec per channel and continuously transmits acquired data to the PC in real time. The StrainBook hardware includes simultaneous sample and hold (SSH) amplifiers on every channel. When the SSH option is turned on, all channels are measured within 100 ns of each other.

WaveView software is included with the WaveBook, providing all set-up, data acquisition, real-time display, and ­storage to disk without having to program. WaveView supports up to 64 channels of strain, voltage, or sound/vibration inputs. For applications beyond 64 channels, or for custom applications, ­comprehensive drivers are included for DASYLab®, ­LabVIEW®, Visual C++®, Visual C#®, Visual Basic®, and Visual Basic .NET®.

Signal Conditioning and Expansion
The WaveBook includes 8 built-in channels expandable up to 72 channels of voltage, accelerometer, microphone, strain gage, thermocouple, position encoder, frequency, high voltage, and other signal types. For applications beyond 72 ­channels, up to four WaveBooks can be combined within one measurement ­system, for a total capacity of 288 channels. You can also add up to 854 thermocouples, without consuming ­measurement bandwidth of the WaveBooks, ­using the WBK40 Series, and DBK90 signal conditioning options. Included Software
LabVIEW® Support LabVIEW® Support is organized in a tiered modular architecture allowing improved VI customization and rapid device integration capabilities. Block diagrams have consistent wiring conventions which greatly increase the ability to adapt VI’s to specific application needs. Diagrams are well annotated to minimize application design effort. Clean, easy to understand front panels allow end users to quickly configure channel and acquisition settings.
PostView PostView is a time and frequency domain post-acquisition data viewing package which is integrated and ready to use from within your View package when you install it. PostView provides easy to use basic time and frequency domain data viewing for IOtech data acquisition View packages including DaqView, WaveView, Personal DaqView, LogView, and ChartView.
WaveView WaveView is IOtech’s included Out-of-the-Box software and a Windows®-based setup and acquisition application that allows you to configure, display, and save data to disk within minutes of taking the WaveBook/516E or StrainBook/616 Out-of-the-Box. WaveView provides a point-and-click interface that simplifies operation by allowing setup of all hardware, including the field-installable WBK options, without programming or connecting icons.
Additional Software
DASYLab® DASYLab® picks up where DaqView and WaveView leave off, letting you interactively develop PC-based data acquisition applications by simply attaching functional icons. DASYLab offers real-time analysis, control, and the ability to create custom graphical user interfaces (GUIs). What’s more, in contrast to other graphical programming environments, which can require weeks of training to master, DASYLab has a very short user-learning curve. Many applications can be configured in a few minutes, rather than days or weeks.
